KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has extended his condolences to the families of five Kota Kinabalu MARA Skills Institute (IKM) students who died in a road crash in Tuaran, Sabah.
In a post on X, the Rural and Regional Development minister said he was deeply saddened by the tragic accident at Jalan Sulaman.
He said his political secretary, Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin, had met the victims’ families to offer condolences and provide immediate assistance.
Karambunai assemblyman Datuk Yakubah Khan and Umno division leaders were also present.
“I pray that the families of the victims will be granted fortitude and strength in facing this great trial,” he said.
In the 2pm incident yesterday, all five male victims, aged 20, were pronounced dead at the scene after the multi-purpose vehicle they were in collided with a trailer lorry.
