KUALA LUMPUR: British teenager, David Balisong, 17, was found significantly underweight after surviving on fast food during his disappearance.
His mother, Minerva Balisong, 50, said he was in good condition despite the significant weight loss.
“He is in good condition, though he only ate fast food and lost a lot of weight.
“We just found him, and I can hardly believe it myself. His hotel roommate reported him to the police, and now we’re waiting for the police to take his statement,” she added.
Meanwhile, Kuan Chee Heng, also known as Uncle Kentang, said his team received information about an individual resembling David at a hotel near Pudu here and reported it to the police.
He explained that the informant, a fellow traveller staying at the hotel with David, had seen news reports about the missing British teenager.
“The informant contacted me after reading the news about the missing teenager,” Kuan said.
“Balisong had rented a room with four other travellers from various countries. A traveller from Korea then contacted me with this information.”
“I am grateful to the Kuala Lumpur police for acting swiftly in this matter,” he said.
