PETALING JAYA:

British teenager David Balisong, who was reported missing three months ago, was found safe at a hotel on Jalan Pudu in Kuala Lumpur tonight.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the teenager was found by a team from the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters at 7pm.

“Further details will be announced once further investigations, including the condition of the teenager involved, are completed,” he said when contacted here tonight.

The A-level student had vanished from his home in Cheadle, Greater Manchester in the UK on June 6, before secretly boarding a one-way flight to Malaysia.

Balisong had left home early that day, telling his brother he had school matters to deal with, but flew alone from Manchester to Kuala Lumpur instead.

He then switched off his phone and refused to respond to emails.

Balisong’s last known contact before this was on July 9, when he emailed his mother, asking her not to worry and to stop searching for him, and apologising for his actions while wishing his family success in life.
