BAYAN LEPAS: A woman in her 20s was found dead, believed to have fallen from the 28th floor of a condominium here, yesterday.

It is understood that the woman’s body was discovered in the condominium parking lot by a member of the public at around 9pm.

Southwest police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam said the woman was five months pregnant and believed to have recently been abandoned by her partner.

However, further investigations are ongoing.

“The case is classified as sudden death (SDR),” he said today.

The police will issue further statements soon.

The incident went viral on social media with residents claiming they heard a loud thud before discovering the victim lying in the parking area.

Images also went viral, purportedly showing the woman dressed as an anime character before the incident.

Meanwhile, the Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Muhammad Firdaus Mohamad Saad said they received a call at 12.43am.

He said the department went to the scene to assist police in a special cleaning operation in the area.

“Based on the information received, the woman in her 20s is believed to have fallen from the 28th floor of the condominium.

“As a result of the impact on the victim’s body, the fire department was called to assist with cleaning the area,” he said.

He added that the cleaning process was carried out using a pump hose from the fire engine, and it was completed after about 40 minutes.

“Thorough checks were also conducted in the surrounding area to ensure that the area was safe and fully cleaned,” he added.
