#NSTviral: Boy bleeding from head after vicious dog attack

KUALA LUMPUR: A young boy endured a terrifying ordeal after he was mauled by a dog while playing near his home.

The child, whose age has not been revealed, suffered injuries in the attack but managed to break free from the aggressive animal before fleeing for his life in the incident which is believed to have occurred in Taman Megah, Cheras.

A video of the incident has quickly become viral with netizens slamming the owner of the animal for allowing it to roam free.

Based on the video, residents nearby rushed to his aid after he ran bleeding for help.

It was visible that he was “dripping from the head” when he was rescued.

A photo of the injured boy, clad in a dark blue T-shirt and long pants and drenched in blood, was posted on Facebook by user Mohd Firdaus Md Isa with the video of the attack, sparking an outpouring of shock and anger online.

According to the post, eyewitnesses claimed the dog wore a collar, suggesting that it had an owner living in the area.

Netizens quickly filled the comment section with outrage and sympathy.

“This is heartbreaking. Poor child, I hope he recovers quickly,” wrote one user.

“If the dog had a collar, then the owner must take full responsibility. You can’t just let a dangerous dog loose like this,” another said.

“The authorities must step in immediately before another tragedy happens,” added another.

The incident also reignited debate on social media about pet owners’ responsibilities and the safety of children in residential neighbourhoods.

Meanwhile, Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, when contacted, said his department has not received any report regarding the incident so far, but will carry out further checks.
