Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin is in good health and is actively leading the party, party secretary-general Azmin Ali said today.
Azmin said he was communicating with Muhyiddin regularly, especially ahead of the party’s annual general assembly this weekend.
He said this in response to a Facebook post last week by former Selangor Bersatu secretary Hasnizam Adham that Muhyiddin had been hospitalised as he was reportedly not in good health.
Azmin also said Muhyiddin had been visiting states and division members over the past six months as part of the party’s preparations for the 16th general election (GE16).
“The president’s health is good (and) he is energetic. In fact, he is currently preparing a comprehensive keynote speech (for the general assembly),” Utusan Malaysia reported him as saying.
“He has no health problems. I believe he is ready to continue leading the party more actively.”
Azmin also said the general assembly on Sept 6-7 at the IDCC Convention Centre in Shah Alam would focus on preparations for GE16.
He added that it would serve as an important platform for the party to review its performance, strengthen grassroots machinery training at all levels, and reinforce strategic cooperation with partners in Perikatan Nasional.
