MUAR: The state government has channelled a one-off cash aid of RM300 each to more than 16,000 single mothers and 18,000 women cancer patients across the state, as part of its wider effort to strengthen family institutions and empower women.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the allocation, amounting to RM11 million, was introduced under the Pesona Keluarga Johor 2025 programme, launched by the Darul Ta’zim Family Development Foundation at the Bakri junction ballroom here today.

He said the initiative was designed to strengthen family institutions, position women as a vital force for social change and ensure that every segment of society received proper attention and support.

An additional RM1 million was also channelled to the initiative to further strengthen women’s economic empowerment programmes.

Other assistance presented at the event included the business equipment aid scheme, Makmur Johor adopted child cash contribution, student excellence awards, and the distribution of new QR-coded people with disabilities (OKU) cards.

“These initiatives are part of Johor’s commitment to strengthen family well-being, empower women, support students and protect vulnerable groups,” Onn Hafiz said on his Facebook.
