AKPS Denies Entry To 104 Foreigners Without Valid Documents At KLIA Terminals 1, 2

SEPANG, Aug 30 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) denied entry to 104 foreign nationals from various countries yesterday, as they were found not to have met the entry requirements stipulated under the Immigration Act 1959/63.

In a statement today, AKPS said that all of the foreign nationals were detected after the agency inspected and screened the entry of 54,947 international visitors recorded at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

“This entry involved 362 international flight arrivals and 361 international flight departures. The inspection found that the majority of visitors from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan failed to provide a clear purpose for their entry,” the statement said.

AKPS added that the inspection also found that the foreign nationals who were denied entry did not have valid accommodation or return tickets and gave suspicious reasons to support their entry applications.

“AKPS will continue to take strict action to ensure the security and integrity of the country’s entry points are always protected and to ensure that only visitors who meet the entry requirements are allowed into Malaysia,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, AKPS said it is currently working to repatriate 288 visitors who are still at KLIA and have not been allowed to enter the country, to their respective home countries.
