SEPANG: At least two people were injured when a van rammed into their motorcycles in an accident involving six vehicles that was caught in a clip which has gone viral on social media.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said the accident occurred at a traffic light junction near Taman Meranti Jaya at 9.15am.

He said initial investigations showed the driver of a lorry was believed to have lost control of the vehicle before it rammed into the rear of the van.

The impact caused the van to veer into the opposite lane and crash into two motorcycles.

“The lorry also rammed into the back of a BMW, which subsequently skidded forward and hit the rear of a Proton X50,” he said in a statement today.

Norhizam said all the vehicles involved sustained varying degrees of damage.

“All those injured in the accident were rushed to Serdang Hospital for treatment. However, no fatalities were reported,” he said.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Norhizam urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the Sepang district police’s Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department or Inspector Nurulsakela Ramlee at 019-558 8221.
