DATUK Remy Ishak has revealed that he has long wanted to take a break from acting, but is constantly offered roles that make it difficult to take a sabbatical.

The 43-year-old actor, whose real name is Mohammad Zalimei Ishak, says he wants to focus on his family, especially now that his son, Tuah Alam, is growing up.

“I’m enjoying the moment now that Tuah is growing up, so I want to enjoy time with my family,” he said.

“Because of that, I thought I’d take a break after filming the movie ‘Mikael’, directed by Zahir Omar. I promised myself I wanted to rest and I told everyone.”

However, he admitted that he couldn’t turn down an offer from Media Prima Bhd to act in a drama series titled ‘Bukan Pilihan Hati’ because of its strong script and storyline.

“I told my wife I couldn’t rest because I had to finish filming this Samarinda slot drama until next month. After this, I have a film project with Red Communications, which will take me to the end of the year. So, planning to take a break is just a dream,” he said.

Remy also confessed that he enjoys his busy schedule and finds it hard to be idle.

“I planned to rest for a month or two. But after two weeks of sitting still, I was itching to get back to work. I’m an actor. I enjoy acting,” he said at a recent GAC Malaysia motor company event where he was announced as their new ambassador.
