IPOH: Police are trying to track down a suspect believed to be involved in the death of a man found in an alley near Jalan Horley here.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said police have already identified the suspect after CCTV footage showed him chasing the victim in a bonded truck before scuffling with him on Wednesday (Aug 27) at about 4.25am.
“Police have identified the owner and driver of the lorry. The suspect is being traced to assist in our investigation,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 27).
During the incident, the victim fell in front of the vehicle after the scuffle.
He was then run over by the truck and left at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The victim was found by a hotel worker at about 6am.
He was found covered in blood with severe injuries to the head and back.
No identification documents were found on the victim.
A post-mortem was carried out at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics department, with the cause of death being head and chest injuries due to a road traffic collision.
