The police have sought assistance from their partners abroad to track down a foreign person believed to own the phone number used to send threatening messages to the wife of former economy minister Rafizi Ramli.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail said he was confident the suspect would be identified soon, Bernama reported.
“We have sought assistance from our partners, and I believe we will obtain the information as quickly as possible,” he told reporters after officiating an event in Kuala Lumpur today.
Last Friday, it was reported that police had identified the phone number used to send threats to Rafizi’s wife. The number was registered under the name of a foreign individual, whom police are currently tracking down.
Regarding the type of liquid allegedly injected into Rafizi’s son during the recent attack at a shopping mall in Putrajaya, Khalid said the hospital’s chemical analysis report was still pending.
Rafizi’s 12-year-old son was attacked on Aug 13 by two men on a motorcycle who allegedly injected him with a mysterious liquid.
Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said the incident occurred at around 2pm at the mall’s drop-off and pick-up zone.
