TAPAH: Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir today reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the promises made in his manifesto for the benefit of the Ayer Kuning constituents.
The former lecturer also expressed gratitude to Allah for being entrusted with the responsibility of representing Ayer Kuning.
“Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to Allah Almighty for giving me the opportunity to shoulder the responsibility as the state assemblyman for Ayer Kuning.
“God willing, everything we pledged and committed to in our manifesto, we will strive to fulfil, for the comfort and benefit of the people, especially in the Ayer Kuning constituency.
“We put in the effort, and ultimately, we place our trust in Allah Almighty. We do not act beyond what is acceptable,” he added.
When asked about his plans for tomorrow, he said he would visit his friends in Kampung Tahir and express his gratitude to them for their unwavering support.
“Thank you for the cooperation and good teamwork over the past two weeks. Let’s continue working together for everyone’s benefit,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that BN defended the Ayer Kuning state seat after its candidate, Mohamad Yusri, defeated Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Abd Muhaimin Malek and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate K.S. Bawani.
Mohamad Yusri, 54, secured a large majority of 5,006 votes in the by-election today.
He garnered 11,065 votes, leaving Abd Muhaimin with 6,059 votes and Bawani with 1,106 votes.
The official results were announced by the returning officer, Ahmad Redhauddin Ahmad Shokori, at Dewan Merdeka, Tapah, tonight.
