Malaysia's first flippable ice cream gets Batik makeover

KUALA LUMPUR: In a colourful celebration of Malaysia’s 68th national day, innovative dessert and beverage brand Momoyo, together with Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, has unveiled a special Batik edition of YoFlip, the country’s first-ever flippable ice cream.

YoFlip, designed with a unique flip-cup technology, can be turned upside down without spilling, offering both playful fun and creamy indulgence in every serving.

The special Batik edition features cups inspired by Malaysia’s iconic batik heritage, blending cultural pride with modern dessert innovation.

“This collaboration is more than just dessert — it’s about celebrating Malaysia’s creativity, cultural heritage, and unity in one cup you can hold, flip, and enjoy,” said Momoyo Malaysia general manager Alex Tan.

The launch drew an enthusiastic crowd, with live demonstrations of the YoFlip’s upside-down feature sparking excitement among food lovers.

Alongside the launch, Momoyo announced an ambitious aim to grow to 200 outlets for 2025 followed by 300-400 outlets in 2026, with the ultimate goal of 600 outlets across major cities and tier-2/3 markets.

Currently, the number is standing at 120 nationwide after Momoyo entered the Malaysian market in April 2024.

Momoyo has carved a strong niche with its affordable pricing strategy, offering fresh fruit teas and ice cream within the RM5–RM10 range.

Momoyo plans to launch six to eight new products annually, including a “Malaysian Favourites” range featuring white coffee, durian fruit tea, Milo ice cream and lime ice beverages.
