KUALA LUMPUR: World-renowned Qawwali maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is set to return to Malaysia on Nov 1 for a concert.
This highly anticipated performance at the Idea Live Arena in 3 Damansara, Petaling Jaya, will be a historic event as he will share the stage with his son, Shahzaman Ali Khan, marking a new chapter in the continuation of the legendary Khan musical dynasty.
Carrying on the legacy of his late uncle, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has become one of the most celebrated Sufi and Bollywood playback singers of his generation.
With a career spanning over three decades, he has performed to sold-out audiences worldwide and delivered iconic songs that have become classics in both traditional Qawwali and mainstream cinema.
Fans can look forward to live renditions of his greatest hits, including ‘O Re Piya’ from Aaja Nachle, the romantic ballad ‘Teri Meri’ from Bodyguard, his breakthrough track ‘Mann Ki Lagan’ from Paap, the globally acclaimed ‘Afreen Afreen’ from Coke Studio, and the soulful ‘Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji’ from Ishqiya.
His music has transcended borders, blending classical Qawwali with contemporary sounds, and Shahzaman Ali Khan is now carrying this tradition forward, ensuring the spirit of the Khan family legacy continues to inspire future generations.
In April, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan performed at The Star Theatre in Singapore, where over 5,000 fans were captivated by a powerful three-hour performance filled with Qawwalis, Bollywood favourites, and timeless classics.
Rohit Rampal, founder of the event’s organiser Hitman Group, said: “We organised Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s concert in Singapore in April 2025, and it was a complete sell-out. Seeing the incredible response there, we knew we had to bring him to our own country.”
He added: “Fans can expect an enchanting evening of timeless Qawwalis, soulful ghazals, and unforgettable Bollywood songs—a night where tradition meets the future, with the powerful voices of father and son carrying the legacy of the Khan family forward.”
The presale for tickets begins at 11am on Sept 2, two days before the general sale.
