KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should apologise for making false accusations against the government, after being urged to retract his remarks on the RON95 fuel subsidy issue.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should also apologise for making false accusations against the government, following calls for him to retract remarks related to the RON95 fuel subsidy issue.
Anwar said that while he would await the findings of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) investigation before deciding on his own stance, Muhyiddin must likewise take responsibility for his statements.
“I will review the MCMC report. (But) he too must apologise for the many accusations and slander directed at the government, including claims made both in Parliament and outside it,” he told reporters after officiating the Asean Law Forum here today.
Muhyiddin, who is chairman of Perikatan Nasional, had earlier urged Anwar to apologise for allegedly accusing him of defending the rights of foreigners in the targeted RON95 fuel subsidy matter.
