A man has lodged a police report saying he suspects his daughter’s death from a fall at a condominium in Setapak last Wednesday is linked to bullying by her peers.
Jeff Ho, in his 50s, said his 22-year-old daughter was a student at a private university in Kuala Lumpur.
“I was informed by the condominium management at about 8.45am that my daughter had died after allegedly falling from the 22nd floor. I rushed to the scene immediately,” Kosmo quoted him as saying at the Wangsa Maju police headquarters.
Ho said his daughter’s friends later told him she had been mentally distressed due to bullying following a disagreement among some friends.
He said his daughter, the second of three siblings, had previously confided in her siblings about similar issues.
He also claimed his daughter was spotted a week earlier but was stopped by a condominium security guard.
“This issue needs to be taken seriously to prevent such tragedies from happening again,” he said.
The body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
