ACTRESS Cristina Suzanne shared a personal story about her name being repeatedly rejected by a broadcasting station.
However, she has chosen not to pry, not out of indifference, but to protect herself.
“When the production team informed me that my name had been rejected, I didn’t ask why.
“I didn’t want to keep the hurt in my heart.
“I just assume that it’s not meant to be yet. And I wanted to be calm about it,” she says.
The Malay-German actress’s absence from television has led many to assume she has deliberately stepped back from her career to focus on her family.
However, the 40-year-old, whose full name is Cristina Suzanne Stockstill, says acting has been a part of her since she was a teenager.
“It’s through acting that I’ve been able to pay the bills all this time. There’s no way I’m leaving a career that has become a part of my life,” she explains.
Looking back, there was a time when Cristina decided to take a break to raise her only child, Adrian Noah Faiz.
Now, with Noah set to start school next year, she is more open to returning to work.
“I had a hard time trusting people to look after my child when he was little. When I was a flight attendant, my mother and in-laws took turns caring for Noah.
Cristina’s return through the film 2024 ‘Babah’ marked a turning point, as opportunities began flowing in once again.
Now, she has high hopes for her latest drama, ‘Toksik Cinta’, a Tonton Original production that will reach viewers this December.
“I will still choose it if the offer is right. If the time is right, I won’t turn it down.
“Hopefully, after ‘Toksik Cinta’, there will be more opportunities for me to return to the big or small screens.”
