The Housing and Local Government Ministry is targeting the development of 18 waste-to-energy (WTE) plants across Peninsular Malaysia by 2050 in support of the nation’s renewable energy goals.
Minister Nga Kor Ming said the WTE facility in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, has been operational since 2023, while another in Sungai Udang, Malacca, is scheduled for completion by 2029.
