PADANG BESAR: The General Operations Force (GOF) detained a man and seized 550 unregistered agricultural chemical products at a roadblock here yesterday.
Northern Brigade GOF commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner Shahrum Hashim said GOF personnel stopped a white van driven by a 27-year-old man at 2pm, and a search found various agricultural chemical products stored in the back.
“Checks found 150 plant hormone products and 400 rubber latex stimulant chemicals suspected to be unregistered with the Agriculture Department.
“Initial investigations found the products were collected from a shop in Kaki Bukit for delivery to Selangor,” he said in a statement today.
He said the total value of the seizure, including the van, was estimated at RM90,200.
The suspect was arrested over offences under the Pesticides Act.
