SUBANG JAYA: The college student who was found dead at her home in USJ 2/1 last Thursday was described by neighbours as a quiet and private person.
One of her neighbours, who declined to be named, said the student had been living with her sister at the corner-lot terrace house while their parents resided in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam.
The neighbour added that although the family had lived next door for about a year, the victim’s parents seldom returned to the house.
“The victim’s mother would occasionally come back to clean the house but never interacted with us. She would just come and go quietly.
“The victim and her sister also went about their own business. Each time they returned home, they would park their car inside and head straight in,” she said when met today.
The woman added that in the days leading up to the incident, there was nothing unusual, given that both her house and the victim’s were located along the main road, Persiaran Murni.
“Our family didn’t hear anything strange or out of the ordinary, as the neighbourhood is generally noisy.
“Even at night, the sound of motorcycles passing along the main road is quite loud,” she explained.
Meanwhile, the victim’s father, when contacted, declined to comment.
Earlier today, it was reported that police believe an acquaintance may be linked to the murder of a college student here.
Police have taken 12 statements to assist in the investigation.
The college student was found dead at her family home in Subang Jaya on Thursday.
The victim, in her 20s, was discovered by her father in the living room on the second floor of the house at 11.55am.
The case is being investigated for murder.
