KUALA LUMPUR: CelcomDigi Bhd posted an 8.1 per cent rise in net profit to RM438.9 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 from RM406.02 million in the same period last year, fuelled by lower operating costs.
The telecommunication company”s revenue grew 2.3 per cent to RM3.2 billion from RM3.1 billion, mainly supported by stronger device sales from postpaid device bundles.
CelcomDigi, in its bourse filing, said its revenue from postpaid and home and Fibre services continued to grow on the back of rising subscriber numbers, though overall growth was tempered by a strategic move away from one-off prepaid SIM acquisitions.
CelcomDigi declared a second interim dividend of 3.8 sen per share, reaffirming its commitment to delivering sustainable returns to shareholders.
CelcomDigi said it aims to reinforce its market position by leveraging the strong growth in its postpaid and home and fibre segments, while expanding digital value-added services for its 20.3 million subscribers.
The company added that it will continue investing in the second half of 2025 to modernise its network and enhance value for customers.
“The company remains focused on reinforcing its market leadership, charting a path towards long-term profitable growth.
“Key priorities include strengthening operating models to elevate customer experience through digital value-added services; enhancing operational efficiency through cost structure optimisation; with continued focus on investment in future capabilities and innovation,” it added.
CelcomDigi chief executive officer Datuk Idham Nawawi said the stable second-quarter results, with sustained revenue and stronger profitability, highlight the company’s focus on long-term profitable growth, disciplined capital management, and operational excellence.
“We are making steady progress in one of the most complex IT consolidation projects that will enable seamless, personalised digital experiences at scale for all customers upon completion.
“At the same time, our network integration and modernisation continue to bring stronger, more reliable network experience, while our award-winning retail transformation is delivering both differentiated service and better customer experiences,” he said.
