PETALING JAYA:

A Chinese national who was arrested for injuring an immigration officer at KLIA Terminal 1 on Wednesday will be charged at the Sepang sessions court tomorrow.

KLIA deputy police chief Albany Hamzah said statements from four individuals, including the victim, have been recorded in connection with the case, Berita Harian reported.

“The woman will be charged in court tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying.

Albany said the woman’s immigration status is being investigated by the immigration department.

Checks revealed that all four individuals involved – two adults and two children – had no record of entering Malaysia.

The incident took place at about 7.40pm at the departure hall, when the group was undergoing immigration clearance.

The woman was said to have acted aggressively and injured an immigration officer during the process. She claimed she was worried about missing her flight.

She is being investigated under Sections 186, 332 and 353 of the Penal Code.

The officer sustained a swollen left eye and pain on the right side of her head following the assault. She was sent to Cyberjaya Hospital for treatment.
