Body of Indonesian man washes ashore on Tanjong Karang beach


TANJONG KARANG: The body of an Indonesian man was found lying on the shoreline at Parit 3, Jalan Pantai, here yesterday.

Kuala police chief Superintendent Azaharudin Tajudin said they received a call from a member of the public at 1pm before rushing to the scene.

“Investigations found the victim, who had fair skin, was fully clothed and unconscious.

“Checks on his body revealed identification details showing he was an Indonesian national.

“No elements of foul play were involved,” he said when contacted today.

Azaharudin said the body was sent to Tanjong Karang Hospital for a post-mortem.

He said the post-mortem found the cause of death was drowning.

“Police are asking members of the public who witnessed the incident to contact investigating officer Sub-Inspector Che Abdul Hamid at 03-32698222 or the nearest police station,” he said.
