IPOH, Aug 16 (Bernama) — The development of Ipoh Sentral is set to become a new iconic landmark in the heart of Ipoh city, reflecting advancement rooted in a long-term vision, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

said the large-scale project, fully driven by the private sector through a strategic collaboration between Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) and Railway Assets Corporation (RAC), involves a total Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM6.25 billion.

In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ipoh Sentral Development project this evening, the Prime Minister expressed hope that Ipoh Sentral would serve as the best example of development, grounded in MADANI values.

“We no longer want grand physical developments that are devoid of cultural soul. Instead, every development must carry the spirit of humanity that upholds the principles of compassion, respect, sustainability and national dignity.

“To realise this aspiration, it requires synergy and close cooperation between developers, the city council, as well as the relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport, and other related agencies,” he said on his Facebook page today.

As such, he hoped the development would open new opportunities, instil public confidence, and strengthen Ipoh’s identity as a vibrant, inclusive and competitive city.

The Ipoh Sentral Development project, based on the Perak Smart City Green Transport Agenda 2030, is planned to transform Ipoh into a modern and sustainable transport hub with strong connectivity, while also preserving the city’s cultural heritage and strengthening community bonds.
