KUALA KRAI: A nine-year-old boy sustained an abdominal injury after being impaled by a piece of metal from a bicycle pedal in Kampung Manik Urai Baru this morning.
Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Department station chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said specialised equipment was required to safely remove the metal and prevent further harm.
“A team of seven firefighters was immediately dispatched to the scene. On arrival, we found the boy’s abdomen still pierced by the pedal. Our team used specialised tools, including a hand grinder, to carefully cut the metal without causing additional injury,” he said.
The boy was subsequently handed over to the Health Ministry’s medical team and transported to hospital for treatment.
