SUNGAI PETANI: Two Form 3 male students pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court today to a charge of causing hurt to a fellow student at a secondary school last month.
The two teenagers, aged 15, admitted to intentionally causing hurt to a 16-year-old male student in the school hall at about 12.15pm on July 21.
The offence, under Section 323 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of one year, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.
The plea was recorded before Magistrate Mohamad Azlan Basri after the charge was read to them.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Hazwani Md Nor prosecuted, while the two students were represented by National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK) counsel Farah Azlinda Zahari.
The court allowed bail of RM1,000 each with one surety and ordered them not to harass the victim throughout the proceedings.
The case has been fixed for mention on Oct 28 to obtain a moral character report before sentencing.
