Kazakhstan’s GDP grows 6.3 pct in January-July 2025

ALMATY, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — Kazakhstan’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 6.3 percent year on year in the period of January-July 2025, the Ministry of National Economy said Tuesday.

During the previous seven months, goods production increased by 8.3 percent, industry by 6.9 percent, and services by 5.2 percent, with notable growth in transport and trade, according to preliminary data by the Bureau of National Statistics.

The GDP growth was mainly driven by transport and storage, which grew 22.5 percent, along with construction, which rose 18.5 percent. Wholesale and retail trade increased 8.6 percent, while mining and manufacturing were up 8.5 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively.

Trade rose 8.6 percent, from 8.4 percent in January-June, with wholesale trade expanding 9.5 percent and retail trade increasing 6.6 percent.

Industrial output rose 6.9 percent overall, while gross agricultural output climbed 3.7 percent.
