HONG KONG: Singer and actor Max Zhang recently revealed that he had a near-death experience in April this year.
Fortunately, he survived, and his great will power was fuelled by the love of his wife Ada Choi, whom he vowed never to leave behind.
JayneStars reported yesterday that Max was travelling abroad with Ada with their three children when he suffered a heart attack.
“While Ada was queuing with the children for a tour boat, I was standing just over 10m away when I suddenly suffered a heart attack,” he said.
Max felt a sudden pain in his heart, struggled to breathe, and had a cold sweat all over his body.
“I was speechless at the time. It felt like there was an abyss, and I was falling, with nothing to cling to for help!”
Max knew he would die if he closed his eyes, so he kept staring at his wife and three children.
“My only thought was to survive. I can’t die here, because this is a foreign country, and Ada is taking care of the children.
“What will happen to her when I’m gone?” he said.
Thankfully, Max survived, and upon returning to Hong Kong, he underwent a medical examination where the doctor confirmed that he had gotten close to death.
Max then underwent a heart stent procedure.
“When you have a close brush with death, it will make you wake up. Family is the most important thing in life.”
