KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — Police will arrest Kelantanese singer Eda Ezrin, her husband, and four friends the moment they return from Thailand, which released them from drug charges yesterday.

police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said officers have been deployed for this purpose ahead of their arrival, Sinar Harian reported.

He added that two individuals from the group will be arrested under Section 5(2) of the Immigration Act 1958/63 for entering Thailand illegally.

Eda Ezrin, whose real name is Wan Norshaheeda Azlin Wan Ismail, 30, will be detained along with her husband, Mohd Affendi Ahmad, 35, and three others.

The group is scheduled to arrive at the Sungai Golok police station this afternoon, after clearing the Golok Immigration Detention Depot.

They were released from Narathiwat Central Prison yesterday after the Narathiwat Provincial Court rejected the prosecution’s sixth attempt to extend the appeal deadline.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said police will record their statements and collect urine samples for drug screening.
