JAKOA Allocates RM1 Mln To Build Tabika For Orang Asli Community In Kuala Betis

GUA MUSANG, Aug 4 (Bernama) — The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) has allocated approximately RM1 million to construct a new preschool (Tabika) in Kampung Orang Asli Teranek, Kuala Betis, here, to improve early childhood education facilities for the Orang Asli community.

JAKOA Director-General Datuk Sapiah Mohd Nor said the new Tabika is much needed, as classes were previously held in a surau in Kampung Rod, which was unsuitable and uncomfortable.

She said JAKOA recognises the need to provide a more appropriate building for early childhood education.

“We will relocate the tabika, which currently operates in the surau, to this new building once building defect inspections and equipment installations are completed.

“The new premises are expected to be operational within two to three months after all technical matters are resolved,” she said.

She was speaking reporters after the Pre-Handover Ceremony of the KOA Teranek Tabika Construction Project here today.
