CSL Roundup: Beijing held by Tianjin, Zhejiang rallies past Shenzhen

BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) — Beijing Guoan continued its poor form as it was held by Tianjin Jinmen Tiger 2-2 on home soil in the 19th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday, while Zhejiang FC rallied late to defeat Shenzhen New Peng City 4-2.

Tianjin struck first in the 21st minute through Alberto Quiles, who sprung the offside trap to finish one-on-one. Dawhan equalized for Beijing just before halftime with a header off a corner.

Quiles bagged his brace in the 52nd minute, tapping in a rebound to restore Tianjin’s lead. Beijing responded in the 70th minute, as substitute Nebijan delivered a pinpoint cross for Fabio Abreu to head home the equalizer.

In Shenzhen, Zhejiang opened the scoring in the 39th minute with Franko Andrijasevic finishing a breakaway. Shenzhen hit back through Wesley Moraes in the 51st minute and took the lead with a 65th-minute header from Yang Yiming.

The away side ran riots in the late moment as Yago Cariello bagged a brace in a matter of minutes before Alexandru Mitrita sealed the win.

On Saturday, Shanghai Shenhua and Yunnan Yukun played out a wild 4-4 draw, while Shanghai Port defeated Meizhou Hakka 4-2. Chengdu Rongcheng edged Shandong Taishan 2-1 in a tightly contested match, and Qingdao West Coast overcame Henan FC 2-1.

Elsewhere, Wuhan Three Towns and Changchun Yatai played out a goalless draw, while Dalian Pro secured a 2-0 win over Qingdao Hainiu.
