KUALA LUMPUR: A forest fire spanning some 24.28 hectares broke out at Jalan Kiambang Sari 1 Forest in Felda Sungai Buaya yesterday.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said an emergency call was received at 6.36pm, and the first fire engine arrived at the scene at 6.47pm.
The Bukit Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station led the operation, with assistance from the Rawang station.
“As of 7am today, the firefighters successfully extinguished 23.47 hectares, with 0.80 hectares of the affected area remaining ablaze. Firefighters are still working to extinguish the remaining areas.”
