KUALA LUMPUR: Cape EMS Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Cape Renewable Sdn Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EV Connection Sdn Bhd (EVC) to manufacture and supply electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the provider of EV charging and solar infrastructure solutions said the project will also involve solar-related peripherals to support the growing demand for green mobility and renewable energy solutions in Malaysia.

“Under the partnership, Cape Renewable will be responsible for manufacturing and supplying EV chargers and solar system components, while EVC will oversee the installation of EV charging stations and photovoltaic (PV) systems.

“The first phase of the collaboration will see EV chargers installed at the Vectrix Experience Centre in Senai, Johor Bahru, as well as other designated locations to support the EV taxi project,” it said.

It noted that the MoU will be effective for two years, with the option for extension upon mutual agreement.

Cape EMS added that the collaboration with EVC aligns with its vision of being at the forefront of sustainable solutions in electronics manufacturing and renewable energy.

“With Malaysia’s EV ecosystem poised for rapid growth, this partnership allows us to play an integral role in enabling cleaner transportation and advancing the nation’s sustainability agenda,” it added.
