KUALA LUMPUR : A teacher who was allegedly punched by a Form One student during an altercation has been widely praised online for his calm and professional conduct during the heated incident.
Earlier reports stated that a Form One student had been arrested after allegedly punching and threatening a teacher at a secondary school in Kajang near here, in which the incident was captured in a video that went viral.
Many netizens commended the teacher’s composure, applauding his ability to remain calm and handle the situation with maturity.
“Congratulations to that teacher for managing to restrain himself,” wrote TikTok user @kucingmengaumrawrr.
“You’re the best, teacher. You’re truly admirable,” user @gillezekielmugen applauded.
Others echoed similar sentiments, calling the teacher “excellent” for his ability to stay in control.
“This teacher handled it so coolly, even managed to laugh. Bravo teacher, the public can now see what teachers are dealing with in schools these days,” user @mr.banana.692 said.
“Respect to the teacher for not hitting that kid, he’s still being patient,” user @azmimi520 commented.
Meanwhile, one netizen — who claimed to be the teacher’s brother — also shared his admiration for the latter’s patience and bravery.
According to Rah, his brother was currently serving as a substitute teacher and was allegedly not the initial target of the confrontation.
He had stepped in to assist a colleague who was being challenged by the student as he was being punished over a school offence.
“He stood up for what’s right. That takes heart,” Rah Fird said.
“Even as a temporary teacher, he showed the kind of leadership and integrity we want our children to learn from.
“He’s always been committed to shaping young lives, even when the odds are against him,” he added.
According to Rah Fird, his brother had served for more than four years as a substitute teacher in physical and health education, and he holds a degree in physical Education from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
He also left a heartwarming message for his brother.
“Continue to be the shining example you’ve always been. Don’t let this stop you from inspiring others.
“You have the full support and love of your family. InshaAllah, your journey will only grow stronger from here,” he said.
The studentThe student involved had since pleaded guilty at the magistrate’s court to a charge of voluntarily causing hurt to the teacher.
