Fadhlina backs new Penang PKR leadership

GEORGE TOWN: The appointments of Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid and Goh Choon Aik as state chairman and deputy chairman respectively is a move aimed at strengthening party operations ahead of the 16th general election (GE16).

Their appointments were met with support from the party’s grassroots, with the Nibong Tebal division extending its congratulations and expressing full confidence in the leadership duo.

In a statement tonight, Nibong Tebal division chief Fadhlina Sidek said the appointments reflected the party’s trust in the leaders’ ability to reinforce the structure and strategic direction of Penang as the next general election approaches.

“The Nibong Tebal division fully supports the state leadership.

“The reform agenda will continue to be prioritised, and efforts to champion the people’s welfare will be intensified for the benefit of communities in Nibong Tebal and the state as a whole,” she said.

Fadhlina also congratulated newly-appointed chairmen and deputy chairmen of other states, as well as the newly-announced party bureau leadership.

PKR information chief Fadzil, in a statement, said the appointments were made following a political bureau meeting chaired by PKR president Datuk Seri Ibrahim today.
