SERI ALAM: A runaway tyre off a lorry travelling in the opposite direction of traffic struck a car on the Pasir Gudang Highway, in a freak incident that caused vehicle damage but no injuries.
The incident happened at Km19.7 of the highway at 3.47pm yesterday (Jul 29).
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the lorry tyre suddenly dislodged and bounced into the path of the oncoming vehicle
as it heading from Seri Alam towards Kampung Pasir.
“The driver was unharmed but the vehicle was damaged,” he said in a statement.
Investigatings are underway to establish if it was a mechanical failure or involved negligence or poor vehicle maintenance.
