SHAH ALAM: The Kuala Municipal Council (MPKS) raided two illegal dumpsites in the district during an enforcement operation yesterday.

MPKS said the operation, which ran from 8.30am to 3pm, targeted two plots of land in Ijok.

“At the first location, we seized an excavator under the Collection, Removal and Disposal of Garbage Bylaws.

“In addition, one compound was issued for failing to comply with a previous notice, while an additional compound was issued under the same bylaws along with a notice to abate a nuisance.”

MPKS said the Health and Environment Department, which joined the operation, issued a separate compound for illegal dumping.

At the second location, the authorities found an excavator but could not seize it as it was not working. No other waste-handling machinery was found.

However, a notice to abate a nuisance was issued. The Health and Environment Department also issued a compound.

“Overall, the operation involved the monitoring of two locations, the seizure of one piece of machinery, and the issuance of two notices and four compounds,” MPKS said.
