Kelantan TRW and Police face FFP review over salary arrears

The Malaysian Football League (MFL) confirmed yesterday that Super League sides TRW and Police will soon face a Financial Fair Play (FFP) review over outstanding salary issues.

Both clubs were previously ordered to provide proof of payments before the year-end deadline.

In a statement, the league said it is “aware of the salary arrears involving TRW,” adding that the club had been instructed by the First Instance Body (FIB) on Nov 14 to submit “proof of payment or a payment plan on or before Dec 31, 2025.”

MFL clarified that the arrears relate to the 2024-2025 season under the previous owners, while “no salary arrears have been recorded for the 2025-2026 season so far.”

The league also confirmed that Police, currently struggling after a dismal run of defeats, are facing similar scrutiny.

“Police, who have salary arrears for the current season, were also instructed to submit FFP documents by the same year-end deadline.”

Both clubs were previously ordered to provide proof of payments before the deadline following reports of mounting wage issues and legacy debts.

MFL added that it has been working with the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) to manage these cases.

“Any decision regarding the salary arrears involving TRW and Police will be discussed in the upcoming FFP First Instance Body meeting,” the league added.
