SHAH ALAM: Another victim of the road accident in which a car plunged into a two-metre-deep drain in Sabak Bernam has died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Sabak Bernam district police chief Superintendent Md Yusof Ahmad said the 15-year-old died at Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Hospital in Sabak Bernam.
It was earlier reported that the first victim, a 20-year-old man, died at the scene during the accident in Sungai Besar.
“The two victims were stepbrothers,” he said when contacted.
The accident occurred when their car, travelling from Sungai Haji Dorani towards Jalan Parit 1 Bagan Terap in Sungai Besar, lost control and skidded into the drain.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward by contacting investigating officer Inspector Siti Atikah Md Ali at 013-3328212 to assist with the investigation,” he added.
It was reported that one man died while another was left unconscious after the Proton Wira they were travelling in skidded into the drain.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a call at 5.48pm.
