PETALING JAYA:

The prices of RON97 and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will go up by three sen per litre in the coming week due to a rise in global oil prices.

The finance ministry said RON97 will be priced at RM3.21 per litre nationwide from tomorrow, up from RM3.18, while diesel will cost RM2.91 per litre in West Malaysia, compared with RM2.88 currently.

In a statement, the ministry pointed out that the diesel price is still lower than the RM3.35 rate when it was first floated in June 2024.

The price of RON95 is maintained at RM2.05 per litre while diesel will retail at the subsidised price of RM2.15 per litre in East Malaysia.

These prices will be in effect until July 23.

The ministry said the government would continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the people’s continued welfare and wellbeing.
