KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has issued an apology to the family of Teoh Beng Hock, nearly 15 years after his death at its Selangor office while under investigation.
Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the commission deeply regretted the tragedy and acknowledged the pain and suffering endured by Teoh’s family.
“This tragic incident has had a profound impact not only on the deceased’s family, but also on all MACC personnel and the nation as a whole.
“On behalf of the commission, I extend our deepest sympathies and an apology to the family of the late Teoh Beng Hock,” he said in a statement today.
