KUALA LUMPUR: has sacked three of its members, who are also Perlis state assemblymen, with immediate effect.

The three are Chuping assemblyman Saad Seman, Fakhrul Ismail (Bintong) and Mohd Ridzuan Hashim (Guar Sanji).

The sacking comes on the heels of a leadership crisis involving Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli, following claims that several assemblymen from and Bersatu have withdrawn their support for him.

president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision was made by the party’s Central Working Committee at a meeting held earlier today.

“The Pas central working committee meeting held today has decided, based on Clause 76 and Clause 15A(1)(b) of the Pas Constitution (2025 Amendment), that the (three) members of the Pas legislative body have their membership terminated with immediate effect,” he said in a statement.

No reasons were provided for the sacking of the three assemblymen.

Hadi added that Pas will notify the Perlis legislative assembly speaker of this decision to comply with Article 50A(1)(a)(ii) of the Laws of the Constitution of the State Government of Perlis (Amendment) 2022.

The crisis reportedly emerged while Shukri is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur for chest pains, shortly after returning from an official visit to .

In a related development, Bersatu is reported to have submitted three names as potential candidates for the menteri besar post should a transition take place, while Pas has yet to finalise its nominees.

Yesterday, Perlis Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim denied claims of any organised effort within PN to remove Shukri from office.
