IPOH: Pakatan Harapan should not compromise its core principles for the sake of individuals or pressure groups that appear never to have supported the reform agenda.
DAP Socialist Youth national chief Woo Kah Leong said it is normal for a political party to collaborate with other parties under different circumstances, citing past cooperation between DAP and PAS, as well as DAP and Bersatu.
The Pasir Bedamar state assemblyman said it is better to uphold its principles and implement reform measures immediately, rather than acceding to demands that disregard the true wishes of PH supporters, which is the pursuit of reform.
“DAP once collaborated with Pas under the leadership of Tan Sri Nik Aziz Nik Mat because Pas upheld unity.
“DAP also worked with Bersatu to remove leaders who misappropriated the nation’s funds.
“It is better to uphold our core principles and implement reform measures promptly to send a message that the Madani government stands firmly with a multi-ethnic society,” he said in a statement today.
Woo, who is also a member of the Perak State Executive Council, said PH voters who supported PH representatives in several past general elections expect the Madani government to continue strengthening reform efforts to make the country better, rather than the opposite.
