#SHOWBIZ: MCR postpones Southeast Asia tour to November 2026

KUALA LUMPUR: Acclaimed American rock outfit My Chemical Romance (MCR) has announced that its highly anticipated Southeast Asia tour, originally slated for April 18 to May 3, 2026, has been rescheduled to November 2026.

In an official statement on Instagram, the band explained that the decision was made to ensure the smooth logistical execution of the tour and to maintain its high commitment to fans in the region.

The group assured fans that the tour has not been cancelled, and all tickets previously purchased remain valid for the new dates.

“We will be postponing our upcoming Southeast Asia tour dates to November 2026. These shows have not been cancelled. All tickets purchased will remain valid for the new dates,” the statement read.

However, MCR confirmed that refunds would be available for those unable to attend the rescheduled shows.

“If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, a refund will be provided. Please refer to further information according to your respective market.”

The New Jersey-bred band also emphasised that its other 2026 performances remain unaffected and will proceed as planned.

The rescheduled tour will now kick off at the Paradise City Culture Park in Incheon, , on Nov 7, 2026, before heading to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for two nights on Nov 10 and 11.

The tour continues at the Philippine Arena in Manila on Nov 14, followed by a show at the IMPACT Challenger Hall in Bangkok on Nov 17.

Malaysian fans can catch the quartet at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium for two consecutive nights on Nov 19 and 20, 2026.

The Southeast Asian leg will then conclude at the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia on Nov 22.

Hello Universe, the organiser for the Kuala Lumpur leg, echoed the band’s assurance that all tickets already purchased will be honoured.

Regarding the shift in timing, Hello Universe described November as an ideal window for large-scale concerts, particularly those involving complex stage productions.

“With the energetic end-of-year atmosphere, more stable tour plans, and high fan expectations, November often produces the most impactful performances,” a representative said.

“For a band like MCR, known for their emotional performances and deep connections with fans, November is not just a new date, but a time that feels right.”

Detailed information regarding the refund or ticket exchange process will be shared by the organiser in due course.

MCR, which consists of Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro, and Frank Iero, was formed in 2001 and is synonymous with iconic hits such as Welcome to the Black Parade, Helena, I’m Not Okay (I Promise), and I Don’t Love You.

The band last performed in Malaysia on Dec 9, 2007, as part of The Black Parade Tour at Stadium Merdeka, which drew a crowd of over 10,000 fans.
