TQ Wuling Bingo Malaysia: Compact electric hatchback with over 300km of range, priced from RM62,800

TQ Wuling Bingo EV is now officially available in Malaysia, seven months after it was first announced for our market. The new compact electric hatchback is essentially the second true sub-RM100k EV in Malaysia after its close rival, the Proton e.MAS 5.

The launch of Bingo also marked TQ Wuling’s entry into the EV and passenger car markets in Malaysia. That being said, the company, which was born through a collaboration between Tan Chong Motor and SAIC-GM-Wuling, is already looking to expand its offering very soon.

TQ Wuling Bingo Malaysia Quick Specs

You might not be able to tell from the outside, but the Bingo is actually a 4-seater EV since there is no centre seat belt for the rear passengers. It didn’t really come as a surprise for us, though, given that the Bingo is physically smaller than the Proton e.MAS 5.

Being a front-wheel drive vehicle, the Bingo does not come with a frunk. Again, this didn’t surprise us, although the motor bay appeared to have enough space for one.

The biggest differentiator between the two Bingo variants for Malaysia is the capacity of their LFP-based Magic battery, which also affects their range.

As for the higher-end Bingo Max, it has been fitted with a 37.9kWh battery pack and is capable of delivering a CLTC-rated range of 410km or around 335km of WLTP-estimated range.
