SHAH ALAM: Firefighters have brought a blaze at a plastic factory in Taman Industri Alam Jaya, Bandar Puncak Alam, near here, under control.
State Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the operations commander reported that the fire was contained at 1.30pm.
“Firefighting teams used water from hydrants and water tankers, deploying five 200-foot streams and ten nozzle jets.
“(Fire) suppression and safety operations are ongoing,” he said.
No casualty was reported.
He said the operation saw the deployment of police, Air Selangor and Tenaga Nasional Bhd personnel.
Earlier, Mukhlis said the department received a call about the fire at 11.53am.
A team of firefighters arrived at the scene at 12.27pm.
A total of 35 personnel from fire stations in Kapar, Kota Anggerik, Rawang, Batu Arang and Petaling Jaya were deployed to contain the blaze.
It also saw the deployment of an aerial ladder platform, two water tankers, two volunteer fire rescue department vehicles and four fire rescue tenders.
