Five water-level stations in three Selangor districts exceed danger mark


KUALA LUMPUR: Five water-level stations in three districts in exceeded the danger level this morning following heavy rain and thunderstorms since early today.

The situation is based on updated data on the official Infobanjir portal of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) as at 7.15am.

The stations that surpassed the danger mark are the Rimba KDR floodgate in Sabak Bernam; Batu 12, Batu 15, and Siren Bt 12 Kampung Sungai Serai in Hulu Langat; and Jenderam Hilir in Sepang, with Batu 12 and Jenderam Hilir showing an upward trend.

Meanwhile, two stations in Hulu Langat exceeded the alert level, namely Pekan Bangi Lama, which is showing an increasing trend, and Bt 12 Sg Serai Bung Toi (F2).

A total of seven stations recorded warning-level readings, namely the Ijok floodgate in Kuala ; Bukit Changgang in Kuala Langat; as well as Bandar Klang and Taman Desa Kemuning in Klang.

Additionally, Kg Pasir, Pekan Kajang, and Kg Lembah Jaya Utara in Ampang, all in Hulu Langat, also recorded warning-level readings.

This morning, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a thunderstorm and heavy rain warning for several states, effective until 9am.
