KUALA LUMPUR: A TikTok video showing two men calmly playing video games in their living room despite ankle-deep floodwaters has gone viral, drawing both amusement and concern from social media users.
The clip, uploaded by user @mhd.raifroslan7, is believed to have been recorded in Kuantan. In the video, the pair sit on their chairs, controllers in hand, seemingly unfazed as murky, stagnant water swirls across the floor.
“The (flood) season has arrived,” the caption reads — a familiar refrain as the monsoon continues to bring heavy rains across the country.
Malaysia is currently in its annual flood season, with authorities recently issuing safety reminders as river levels rise in several states. Rising water levels, combined with continuous rainfall, have already triggered localised flooding in parts of Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan and other east coast states.
The nonchalant scene quickly sparked reactions online, with many netizens joking about the men’s unwavering dedication to their game.
“Flood or no flood, the game must go on — that’s a man’s pride,” said user @Aiman.iman.
“Men are all the same. No matter what happens, the game always comes first,” added @Aydaa.
However, others raised safety concerns, urging the men to cut the power supply to avoid electrical hazards.
“It’s already flooded — why not turn off the electricity? You could get electrocuted. People really need to be aware of this,” warned @alim.bakri.
