KOTA KINABALU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) won one out of 73 state seats in the 17th Sabah General Election.
Sabah Pas chairman Datuk Dr Aliakbar Gulasan was elected as the Karambunai assemblyman.
The former nominated assemblyman in the Gabungan Rakyat government secured 7,069 votes, with a majority of 371.
He faced nine other contenders, including Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Yakubah Khan, who won the seat in the previous election.
PN fielded 42 candidates, including its Sabah chief, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, who contested in Sugut.
